What is collected and why
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with the content — which pages are read, how long people stay, what they click on. The GA script is loaded lazily after the page finishes loading, so it never blocks the initial page render.
GA4 collects anonymised usage data including: pages visited, session duration, approximate geographic region (country level), device type, and browser. It does not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information on its own.
IP addresses are anonymised before storage. No cross-site tracking or advertising profiles are built from this data. The data is processed by Google under their standard data processing terms.
Contact form / email
If you reach out via email or the contact page, I receive your name and email address. That information is used only to reply to your message. It is not added to any mailing list and not shared with anyone else.
No cookies beyond analytics
This site does not use cookies for advertising, tracking across other sites, or personalisation. Google Analytics sets a first-party cookie (_ga) to distinguish returning visitors. You can opt out of GA tracking by using your browser's private mode, installing a browser extension like uBlock Origin, or using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log request metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) as part of their standard server infrastructure. See GitHub's privacy statement for details.
Profile images are served from GitHub's CDN (github.com). No tracking pixels or third-party advertising scripts are loaded on any page of this site.
Your rights
You can request deletion of any personal data I hold about you (which in practice means any email you sent me) at any time. Email amulyagupta2001@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and I will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including access to your data, correction, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) grants similar rights to Indian residents.
Changes to this policy
If the data practices here change in any meaningful way, I will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. This site does not currently run a newsletter, so there is no way to notify subscribers — check this page if you want to see the current version.
